Our mission is to counsel students and their families one-on-one through the college selection/application process during 11th and 12th grade.  Encourage and empower students to explore their high school experience and leverage it to find the most suitable fit for college and their future. Conduct honest discussions regarding tuition, competition and the selection process to ensure the WISE Fit For U.

11th Grade

  • Comprehensive academic and extracurricular review
  • Review scheduling SAT/ACT exams, if needed
  • Preliminary discussion of school interests (if appropriate)
  • Assist families in college research from internet and guidebooks
  • Assist and prepare for campus tours
  • Use college match surveys to help focus on interest in schools
  • Review/discussion of finances – refer to financial aid consultant if needed

12th Grade

  • Finalize college list
  • Review common application completion/review of deadlines for ED, EA or RD
  • Essay preparation, writing and editing (common app and supplemental essay – main focus of the application process; to showcase your personal interests, story and voice)
  • Review scheduling SAT/ACT exams, if needed
  • Make timeline for all application deadlines, recommendations
  • Prepare students for on campus or alumni interviews
  • Assist student in making college choices after decision letters, if needed
  • Discuss May 1 deadline for deposit/acceptance of school
